Street Light User Charge

The Village Board adopted Ordinance No. 23-06 on June 20, 2023 creating a Street Light Electric Expenditure Recover User Charge (Street Light User Charge).  The charge is billed to property owners to cover the costs of the electricity for the Village’s public street light system.

Generally, the charge will appear on your monthly municipal service bill (water bill) if you own your property and have Village services (water or sewer services, refuse / recycling pickup).  The following note will be placed on the monthly municipal service bill "The Village has implemented a new service charge to cover the cost of electricity for the Village’s street light system. Property owners will now see a charge on their monthly bill. If you have any questions, please contact Village Hall at (608) 835-3118. More information can be found on the front page of the Village website: vil.oregon.wi.us."

Property owners who do not receive a monthly municipal service bill will be sent a bill annually.

Ex:  You are the property owner of a  duplex and the municipal service bill goes to each of the tenants.
