Position Objectives:

The Utility Accounting Assistant, under the supervision and direction of the Finance Director / Village Treasurer, performs a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, billing, customer service, and administrative support tasks and duties for the Village’s Finance Department primarily in support of the Village’s water and sewer utilities.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma. Some post - secondary coursework (college, tech school, certificate program, or similar) completed related to bookkeeping, accounting, or related field. One to two years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or related field. One to two years of customer service experience. An equivalent or related combination of education and experience may be considered. Valid driver’s license. Must pass an in-depth background check.

Desirable Training and Experience:

Completion of post-secondary education (college, tech school, certificate program, or similar) in bookkeeping, accounting, or related field. Three to five years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or related field. One to two years’ experience with utility operations.
