Current Classes Offered

Zumba Gold: Tuesday and Thursday, 9:45 - 10:30 AM.  Zumba Gold meets the needs of the active older participant. It includes zesty Latin music, easy-to-follow moves, and a party-like atmosphere. If you have never taken a dance exercise class, this is the place to start! This class is also broadcast on Zoom. Email astone@vil.oregon.wi.us for the link. $3.00 per class. Instructor: Anne Stone


Zumba Gold Advanced: Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30 - 9:30 AM. Take the moves you learn in Zumba Gold to the next level. The steps are a little faster and more complex, but just as much fun! Fire Up Your Fitness - a Silver Sneakers Class: Tuesday and Thursday, 12:30 - 1:30 PM.  This class includes warm-up, a cardio workout, strength exercises, stretching and fun.  All of the moves can be done either sitting or standing. You work at your own pace.  $3.00 per class. Instructor: Anne Stone


StrongBodies: Monday and Thursday at 10:30 AM. An evidence-based program that includes a strength training curriculum to help women maintain muscle mass, strength, and function as they age. Offered in-person and through Zoom. $3.00 per class. Instructor: Vickie Carroll


Balance Class:  Monday and Thursday, 2:00 PM and at 3:00 PM. This class is designed to improve balance, overall strength and reduce fall risk in older adults who are having balance problems or a fear of falling.  Enroll through Stoughton Health Community Education at 608-877-3498.  $60.00 for 12-week session.  Instructor: Amber Pope


Parkinson’s ExerciseTuesday, 10:45 - 11:30 AM.  This class is specifically designed for individuals diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Class content is based on current research targeting specific Parkinson’s disease movement deficits and focuses on improving function, mobility, mood, quality of life, and fall reduction in a fun atmosphere.  Enroll through Stoughton Hospital. Gentle YogaFriday, 10:00 -11:00 AM.  Must pre-register and pay in advance to hold your spot in a series. Maximum number of registrants is 10.  Registrants will need to bring their own yoga mat, yoga block, folded blanket and belt or resistance band. This is a gentle floor yoga class, so folks will need to be able to move from the floor to standing and vice versa. Modifications will be offered. Tai Chi for Health:  Friday,  9:00 - 11:45 AM. $30 for 6-week session. Must pre-register to held your spot.  The movements in this six-week class are slow and gentle, and the degree of exertion and balance support can be easily adjusted, making it suitable for people of all levels of ability. Gail Doty is a certified instructor with a background in Physical Therapy and a passion for facilitating wellness in aging, while having fun doing so!   Call 608-835-5801 to register.
